UPA from sotnya „Jahoda” murdered 16 Poles convening them to the so–called „A conciliation meeting” in the People's House, it initiated Polish–Ukrainian clashes in this town, which lasted until March 19, as a result of which 23 more Poles died (Motyka., P. 193; Yes, it was: in a footnote he states that according to Ukrainian sources, the meeting in Oszczów was. a Polish ambush – see: 1947. Propamjatna Knyha. p. 110; the Poles made an ambush so that they were murdered).

The investigation into the crime against humanity, committed on March 17, 1944 in the village of Oszczów and other localities of the Lublin Province, by killing at least 117 people from among the Polish civilians, by German state officials, with the participation of the Ukrainian police and Ukrainian nationalists. In the course of the proceedings, it was established that Ukrainian nationalists cooperating with German units attacked other nearby towns, namely: Dołhobyczów, Kryłów, Witków, Kabłubiska, Siekierzynka, Horoszczyce, Żabcze, Poturzyn, Honiatyń, Uhrynów, Gołębie, Zaręka, Sulimów, Uśmierz, Waręż, Liwcze, Winniki, Leszków, Hulcze, Rusin, Chochłów, Dłużniów, Myców, Chłopiatyn, Przewodów, Smoligów, Modryniec, Łasków, Mołczyny. These actions were carried out in the years 1941 – 1947.
