Excerpt from the situational report of Petr Kawuzy 'Taras',the political clerk of the OUN 'Chłodny Jar' district, on the murder of Ukrainians from Orelec by Polish Army soldiers:
„On January 25, 1946, 300 Polish Army arrived in the village of Olszanica. They searched the village, robbed and severely beaten many people. From this unit, 60 soldiers went to the village of Stefkowa, from where, after a search and beating, several people left in the direction of Bóbrka. On the way, they met two boys from the village of Orelec, whom they arrested. They came to Orelc with them, checked them and told their parents that they would be released if they donated PLN 7,000. After receiving this sum from their parents, they told the boys that they were Banderites, took them out into the yard and shot them both, and then they went to Lesko”.
