general info

Nowosiółka Jazłowiecka

Danuta Ducka from Nowosiółka Jazłowiecka says: „The spring of 1945 was tragic. One day a woman came to Nowosiółka Jazłowiecka. She said that she was a Pole from the nearby village of Trybuchowce, the wife of a miller. That she could no longer stand among the Ukrainians alone and would give up a lot of grain if she could only move here. Confident people from Nowosiółka Jazłowiecka sent three carts. And they set off. Maria Barylak's brother and sister – Petronela and Karolina, cousin Maria Radomska, 12‑year‑old nephew Kajetan, cousin Andrzej Łyczakowski and sister Karolina, who married a Ukrainian. When they went, they never came back – nods Ms Danuta. – It turned out that the woman who came to the village was not a Pole, but a Ukrainian, she was sent by the Bandera followers. And they caught everyone. They only released Aunt Karolina, who had a Ukrainian husband. Later we found out that they tied up the rest with barbed wire and drowned them in the Dniester. Kajetan was crying a lot, so they took him with them and probably killed him later, because his traces were lost. And Petronela left her son and daughter at home, the husband in the war; Karolina – also a son and daughter, husband in the war; Maria Radomska – two daughters, her husband was already dead, murdered by the Bandera followers; Andrzej Łyczakowski – son. It's good that there were grandmothers, they took care of”.
