Poles were announced that whoever wanted to, could go to Poland. The Bandera followers again took advantage of this fact. Dressed in Russian uniforms, they entered the commune in the town of Nowosielica. My mother's entire family lived there. The Banderites had a meeting there, to which Poles eager to leave for Poland came. When the room was full and no one was coming anymore, they started dealing with the trip. With a machine gun they shot the legs of the people gathered so that no one could escape. Then the Ukrainians were ordered to bring straw. They imposed on the wounded and burned them alive together with the building. Then they ran around the village to murder those who had not come to the meeting yet. My cousin Helena, when she saw that the commune was on fire and the Bandera followers were walking towards their house, grabbed the eight–month–old baby and ran to the forest […] The Banderites were crazy in Nowosielica. They caught, among others. old grandmother Dajhamer. They dragged her out into the yard and hung her on the fence. Children were torn by the legs or killed by hitting the door frame with their heads.
