Neterpińce

Another one that I will never forget for the rest of my life took place in my home village of Neterpińce. In January 1945, five people went from Załozce to Neterpiniec to collect their belongings there. When they didn't come back for the night, the worst was supposed to be. Early the next morning, the entire squad went on a search. As a former inhabitant of this village, I was selected to a four–person reconnaissance group. I knew every corner there. The village was deserted, our arrival was expected. With the rocket, I signaled the unit to enter. We searched the entire village, but did not find any missing. We wanted to end the action, because the day was almost over, but another search was ordered. In Mr. Baksik's barn, I found five brutally murdered, completely naked bodies under the straw. The sight was terrifying. Among the bodies of the victims, I saw my best friend, a scout girl, Stanisława Gaździcka, age 14. I experienced it very much. Even now, years later, at the mere mention of it I can't hold back my tears. The bodies of the victims were taken to Załozce and ceremonially buried.

This murder dates back to March 1945.
