The Banderites murdered 25 Poles resettled here by the Soviets from the village of Bartkówka, county Brzozów „Kolonia Mydzka, like Kol. Stydyńska, was inhabited by Germans who were displaced to the Reich in January 1940. The whole colony was settled by displaced persons from the region of Dynów on the San, both Poles and Ukrainians. After the outbreak of the German–Soviet war, several families decided to return to Bartkówka, but most of them remained, because the news from Bartkówka itself did not favor the return, there were no houses that were demolished. This is how the displaced persons survived until June 9, 1943. On that day, self–defense from Huta Stepańska came to Kol. Mydzka and Kol. Stydyńska to take them to Huta St. all Poles. The Banderites, however, without much trouble smashed the Hucian unit of about 30 people in Kol. Stydyńska, forcing it to retreat, where the Bandera followers set fire to several houses. At that time, the Poles from Kol. Mydzka began to leave their homes, going through Mydzk Wielki towards Huta Stepańska, they were arrested in Mydzek W. and the Dantesque scenes of hunting Poles and catching them began. Poles, supported by local The Ukrainians who were sympathetic to them, were returned home, the vast majority of Banderites were foreign, supported by the Ukrainians displaced from the San River from the village of Pałchowa, however, began to catch Poles. This is how a Ukrainian from Pałchowa, named Wojaczek IN, caught the couple Tomasz and Rozalia Hadam and put them on a cart, and then shot them himself. All caught Poles were put on carts and taken to the local Evangelical cemetery near Kol. Stydyńska where they were shot. A similar fate befell Poles from Kol. Stydyńska. A detailed account of the execution was given by a still living Ukrainian woman from Mydzko Wielki, who was then the fiancée of one of the displaced from Bartkówka (the names in my message). The Poles emphasize in their accounts that the most active executioners were the Ukrainians from Pałchowa near Dubieck, who were deported together with the Poles. Their descendants still live in the vicinity of Mydzek and Stydyń. The local Ukrainians tried to save the Poles' neighbors, when, for example, Stanisław Hadam, s. Tomasz, joined a group of Ukrainians, no one turned him over and managed to escape. The list of all those murdered was made by Kazimierz Edmund Pantoł from Bartkówka, born in On November 1, 1923, Walenty and Jadwiga née Hadam. In the church in Bartkówka there is a commemorative plaque listing all the inhabitants of that village murdered in Volhynia (today Dynowa Street), there are 122 of them, including 48 men, 36 women and 38 children ”. .
