The Cossack ostlegion and Ukrainian policemen murdered at least 25 Poles. „On February 7, 1944 a sub–unit from the Cossack ostlegion and policemen from Kryłów attacked Małków in Hrubieszowski; 25 Poles were murdered and houses were burnt. When the platoon BCh «Rysia» came to the rescue, the local USN sub–unit joined the fight”.

Małków
Battalion BCh „Rysia” and the Home Army AK unit „Czarusia” from the Hrubieszów region fought a battle with German–Ukrainian units in defense of the pacified village of Małków; during the battle, another 3 platoons of the Home Army joined the fight. The German–Ukrainian expedition ended in failure, the Poles acquired a large amount of weapons and ammunition; the partisans lost 6 soldiers and 16 were injured.
