Until recently, three Polish families lived in Huta Majdańska. – Do not be afraid of anything, do not run away, we will not let you move, Ukrainian neighbors repeated them. However, some people whispered to one another: – This Easter Christmas eggs will be dyed with Polish blood! On Good Friday before Easter, all three Polish families from Huta Majdańska were slaughtered, ranging from infants, through women and children, youth, people in the prime of life, to the elderly, and their wooden houses and other buildings were burned, their belongings looted and looted among their neighbors.

Majdańska Huta
The Poles were guaranteed security under a written contract with the UPA staff stationed in Antonowce, county Kremenets, on condition that they will not go to the city and will provide benefits to the UPA. For several months, the village paid tribute: eggs, cheese, milk, grain, pigs, horses, carts, boards for building shelters, etc. On July 12, at dawn, the UPA drove most of the inhabitants to a barn and burned them alive. The rest were murdered in various places, at least 184 Poles died. 11 Poles survived the village because they were away from home.
