Meanwhile, as we read in the reviewed collection, „on April 11 this year [1943 – AS] a UPA unit defeated the Polish gang that attacked the Ukrainian village of Majdan Lipeński and plundered Ukrainian peasants. There was no loss on our side. The enemy suffered great losses in people, many enemy buildings” were burned (p. 210). It is worth paying attention to the style of this text. It was the Ukrainians who were attacked by the „Polish band”, which then suffered great losses, but from the text we also learn about the „burning of enemy” buildings, which were apparently brought by the attacking Poles…
