Łukawica
Excerpt from the situational report of Wasyl Capiak 'Potap', the OUN Security Service clerk of the 'Chłodny Jar' district, about the murder of a Ukrainian in Łukawica by Polish Army soldiers:
„On June 10, 1946, the protection of the station in Łukawica began a heavy shooting, because the Bandera followers allegedly wanted to attack the station. In this way, they wanted to expel Ukrainian displaced persons from the stations and, meanwhile, rob all their property. One soldier even ran up to one farmer's cart and started shouting that he should run away, because the Bandera followers would come and kill them all. The farmer, seeing that the soldier was concerned not with him, but with his cow, did not run away. He stated that he would not move. Then the soldier shot him on the spot and took the cow away.
