Lisko

In February 1945, Kupiak and his militia detained the chairman of the village council, Michał Hnatyszyn, in the village of Lisko, took him to an abandoned farm and shot him personally. at that time, Bogdan Czuczman, Jarosław Iwanow and others, on Kupiak's orders, murdered the entire Hnatyszyn family, wife, daughter Bogna and parents – Józefa Zaręba, Włodzimierz Zaręba and Paraska Hajłasz. Having them, like the other murdered ones, enriched the account of the gang bosses. Testimony of the witness Falińska Susabowska: „Grzegorz Pryszlak «Mikuszka» sent me by mail to Kupiak and asked me to find out about his mother, who lived in Nowosiółki, while in the village of Lisko. In the village of Lisko, I stayed with a farmer, met Kupiak and gave him the mail. at that time, I saw andrzej Moroz, Włodzimierz Olijnyk in Kupiak's militia, Jan Szewczuk and several others. I also found out that the chairman of the village council, Michał Hnatyszyn, asked about me, which made me very curious and concerned. I learned from the hosts that he often travels to the area, where he meets with representatives of the Soviet authorities and returns home late. I notified Kupiak about it in writing. after Kupiak and Moroz's arrival, I told them about Mikołaj Hnatyszyn and asked them to explain why Hnatyszy was interested in me. Kupiak promised to explain it to me. Together with Moroz and Kupiak, I went to the Hnatyszyna cottage. Hnatyszyn saw us in front of the house and was very scared. after a short conversation, Kupiak ordered Moroz to watch over Hnatyszyn, and he escorted me to my host and said that the conversation with Hnatyszyn made no sense. Hojnicza asked me, is there an empty house nearby where you can talk freely. This one pointed him to a building. The next day, I learned from the host that Hnatyszyn was murdered, and that apart from him, his wife, adult daughter and other adult inhabitants of the village were murdered. During the first meeting after these events, Kupiak told me that he shot Hnatyszyn and the rest of his family members, and then buried all the bodies in a pile of dung. This was done to make it look as though the whole family had gone to town. as there were traces of blood in the hut and everything could have appeared, the bandits killed a cow in the yard and poured its blood over the apartment. all Hnatyszyn's property was looted”.
