Leżachów
Fragment of the memories of Michał Knysz, born in in 1932 in Czerwona Wola:
„Gajdzicha also told how the holy books were piled up on the road by the church in Leżachów. Once, a Polish gang caught a 10‑year‑old boy Misiła in Leżachów. She took it with her to throw it from the Leżachowski bridge to the San River. The boy started swimming to the shore, so he got a bullet and continued on the San, like hundreds of other Ukrainians”.

Leżachów
Excerpt from an interview with Józef Medył and Bronisław Medyło, born in 1911 in Leżachów and Bronisława Medyło born in 1920 in Leżachów […] :
„M.: —«They caught a priest in Dobra, ordered him to gather dung, and beat him. And my middle brother, Roman, in Sieniawa, although he had friends and was the commander of the fire brigade, and Michalski, with whom they drank together, but in 1945 it did not matter, they took him and hung him by his legs in Sieniawa, in the cellars».
—«Who was doing it?»
M.: —«The Polish people, those… Surmiński, the militia, they all had rifles. After the torment, [my brother] left for the east. He died there. And they drowned his son in San. »
—«Why?»
M.: —«Because he was Ukrainian».
M.: —«When it was on fire, he started to run away» […]
M.: —«‹Whose child is this? A, Ukrainian?›… And… those from beyond the San. There was this Zygmunt, a bandit».
—«When did it happen?»
M.: —«In 1945, from March 18 to 19. They shot at him 4 times, then caught him and killed him».
—«What happened to you then?»
M.: —«We ran away» […]
M.: —«Her father had a brother in Jarosław. They fled to Jarosław».
M.: —«Our people fled to the forest, all of them. They had nothing left, the cows were taken from them, everything was taken from them. They baked some bread and ran away»…
M.: —«Some even ran away barefoot. Then they killed Szul with a machine gun»”.
