Leszczowate

Excerpt from the situational report of the political clerk of the OUN 'Chłodny Jar' district, Petr Kawuzy 'Taras', on the murder of a Ukrainian from Leszczowate by Polish Army soldiers:
On April 19, 1946, at 2 am, 120 soldiers of the Polish Army arrived in the village of Leszczowate  […] They entered, among others to the house of Stepan Romanov  […] There were 2 families in this house, numbering 13 people  […] The soldiers took the host, Stepan Romanov, and ordered him to climb the ladder to the attic, followed by the soldiers. At that moment they heard a voice:
— «Stij, ruky weerch!».
The soldiers jumped out and ordered the landlord to take things out of the house because they would be smoking. Then they fired a burst of machine gun fire and lit the house. Two of the host's daughters were sleeping in the attic, hearing the shots, they immediately jumped home, and the host's two sons, Wasyl and Saszko, also sleeping in the attic, jumped down onto the field, and then into the yard. There Vasyl rushed to save the horse and led him about 80 m and was stopped by one soldier. Started to run away. The soldier fired a burst of automaton and injured him. The soldiers ran up and killed him with a pistol
