Leopoldów

In the course of the investigation, it was established that in 1943, at an unspecified time, a group of German gendarmes with the Ukrainian police came to Leopoldów in the evening. For unknown reasons, 5 people were shot in the manor house, including 3 men and 2 women, who had not managed to escape from the gendarmes. As it was possible to establish, all the shot people were of Polish nationality.

On March 24, 1944, around 5 p.m., a group of young Ukrainian men, dressed in civilian clothes and armed with rifles, came from the side of the village of Podhorce  […] During the attack, a total of 13 people were killed, mostly with firearms, in most of the elderly and women, family members of local farm workers. At least one of the victims was bayoneted. After some time, the attackers withdrew.
