In the Grabiński forest, the Ukrainian SS men from the SS „Galizien–Hałyczyna” murdered 72 Poles from the prison in Jasło.

On Monday, July 24, 1944 at four in the morning, in the Grabiński Forest, near Iwonicz, bandits from the Ukrainian SS Galizien division, i.e. the 14th Waffen–Grenadier Division der SS – commanded by German Engelstein and Ukrainian Vladimir Najda – murdered with arrows from the rear heads of 72 Poles, mainly soldiers of the Home Army and BCh, brought to the forest from the prison in Jasło: 38 inhabitants of Lubatowa, buried after the war in a common grave by the parish church, 3 from Iwonicz, 2 from Krościenko Niżny, 2 from Brzostek, 2 from Korczyna, 1 from Krosno, 1 from Sanok, 1 from Strzeszyn, 2 from Biecz, 20 unrecognized, buried in Iwonicz.
