On November 16, 1943, Ukrainian nationalists set fire to the Piwowarczyk family house in Ksawerówka. The following died in the flames: Maria Piwowarczyk, her daughters – Wanda Kazimiera and Urszula and her son Ryszard. Maria's husband – Józef was shot with a firearm by the attackers, but he managed to escape from the scene.
