The Banderites murdered 52 Poles. „a large–scale attack on Krasne was organized by the Bandera followers on the night of March 16–17, 1944. They murdered several dozen people with knives in a brutal manner. They also burned down a dozen Polish farms, the then priest, Fr Łukasz Makolądra, treated the dying of wounds. Then «the noble and good people» died. Fr Makolądra two hours a night spent in a church that was relatively well protected against attacks. a local Greek Catholic priest, a nobler man, gave Fr I have a place in my presbytery, saying: «I don't know if the priest will be killed in my place, but first they would have to kill me». However, there weren't many such people back then. These were the exceptions. The Banderites in Krasne did not touch either the church or the rectory”.

The Banderites robbed and burned about 100 buildings and murdered 52 Poles and wounded 22; the parish priest was given shelter by a local Greek Catholic priest who saved his life.
