Kowbań
The UPA massacred over 70 Poles. At the beginning of July, the Poles wanted to flee, but the Ukrainians reassured them „was nichto ne trone”. July 15 at 16 surrounded the village. Poles ran to the statue – the cross to pray. There they were shot at and the wounded were finished off with rifle butts and axes. Among the victims was Dr. Będkowski, who treated the local Ukrainian population for 20 years free of charge.
