general info

Kosienice

On the 22nd of that month, nine people died in Trójczyce, and two in Kosienice  […] According to the information obtained by the chief plenipotentiary of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic government for the repatriation of Ukrainians from Poland, the goal of the attack of a gang of twenty people on Kosienice was to rob people who were preparing to leave for Ukraine (three people were killed)”. Elsewhere: „The secretary of the Lviv regional committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the head of the border troops of the NKVD in the Lviv district alerted the secretary of the Central Committee of the CP (b) U about the murders of the Ukrainian population by local militiamen. On 26 [February] in Kosienice, they killed six  […] Although this information does not agree with the data of the Polish side, both in terms of the number of killed and the dates of events, it points out that militiamen were named as the perpetrators”.
