The cemetery also houses the mass grave of a family that was brutally murdered by Banderites on June 15, 1944 (Mrs. Wanda Smalec told us about it). The Banderites wrapped the whole house with barbed wire so that no one could escape from it and set it on fire. Seven people were burned alive […] There is a Roman Catholic church in the city, which was taken from Poles about 20 years ago. During the Holy Mass Greek Catholics stormed the church and drove out the Poles. Since then, Masses take place in the tomb – the chapel of priest Władysław Frydel, which is located in the cemetery. Masses are celebrated by a priest from the Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Lubień Wielki. A dozen or so years ago, the then mayor of Komarno forbade the burial, and he wanted to build a building for workers in the cemetery. Fortunately, it didn't happen.
