About 7 people were murdered in Kolanki by the Jaszczuk family. They killed Mikołaj Jaszczuk's wife, the headquarters of these Ukrainian butchers was in Potoczyska, 3 km from Michalcz and Kolanki. These are the heroes of the UPA.
