The Ukrainians murdered 1 Pole. „Our delegation in Mościska informs us that on the night of 17–18. a group of about 15–20 people of Ukrainian nationality, armed with automatic weapons of Soviet and German origin, attacked the mixed nationality village of Kalników near Mościska. According to the course of events, the intention of this gang was to abduct and murder more people of Polish nationality – by a lucky coincidence, however, most of the people on whom the attack was planned managed to hide (including the local priest) or escape at the time when the doors of individual houses, so that as a result only three people were abducted. Their names are as follows: 1. Michał Grabarz, about 38 years old; 2. Eugeniusz Rabiej (wounded); 3. Piotr Grabas, around 60. The victims were led towards the nearby forest, beaten mercilessly and then executed on Michał Grabarz. The second victim was to be Rabiej, but the revolver directed at him jammed and fired after a while. Rabiej took advantage of it and tilted his head, thanks to which he was only wounded and ran away after a while. Piotr Grabas was finally released by the attackers, probably due to his old age”.
