Late in the evening on November 10, 1944, someone knocked on the door. Mom asked „Who is it?” heard: „This is me – Chonyk – the village administrator – I would like to talk to”. My mother opened the door and was surprised to see a large group of Banderites armed to the teeth with rifles and bayonets  […] Brother Tadzio was one year old, and Joanna's little sister 4 years old – they slept on a straw floor. Mom was standing in the room in the corner and I was lying back and I was terribly scared by the whole situation. Among the bandits, there was a boy of short stature, maybe he was about 20, he looked at his mother and asked: „What do you wish? – this is your last hour with the children!”. Mom replied: „Let me say goodbye and bless my children” – which she did too. This young Banderite man aimed his rifle at his mother and fired three shots, mom slumped to the floor. Then he aimed at the sleeping brother – he shot twice. He killed my little sister right now. Finally the rifle pointed at me, and I looked at him. The bandit fired two shots and I passed out. After some time I woke up, miraculously survived. My sister, who was lying next to me, was still helping herself, her hands scratching the wall trying to get up. I wanted to help her, but she died with me.
