Ukrainian troops in German service stopped at quarters in the village. After a meal with alcohol, the soldiers drove the men out and harassed women and girls; the next day they started to burn and murder Poles. „Little children were grabbed by their feet and thrown alive into the flames. Women and girls were first raped, killed, and their bodies thrown into the” fire.

152 people, 95 women and 57 men were murdered, including 31 children up to the age of 10. The youngest victim was six–month–old Janina Szkuat, the oldest – eighty–three‑year‑old Marcela Szkuat. Józef Wolski: „I cannot forget my beloved teacher Adela Sieradczuk, who has always been so good to us, and who has suffered such a tragic fate. She knew the stories about how the Vlasovites treated women. Knowing that they surrounded the village and penetrated the apartments, she hid in a bread oven. Being a subtle and beautiful woman, she did not want to taint her dignity. When the Vlasovites did not find her in the room, they set fire to the school and our poor lady burned alive. She was completely burned, her body only recognizable by the hem of a blue” dress.
