Huta Stara

Bandera followers murdered 30–35 Poles. „Because nowhere in any study have I come across a personal list of people murdered by UPA gangs of inhabitants of the village of Huta Stara, commune Monasterzyska, county Buchach Province Tarnopolskie, let me provide below an incomplete list of the inhabitants of the village of Huta Stara, murdered during two Banderites attacks. Some studies and websites give a total of 12 victims, and also only mention one attack. Meanwhile, there were two attacks on Huta Stara. The first attack – on the night of March 4, 1944. almost the entire village was burnt (about 25–30 of approx. 200 homesteads survived). Probably about 30–35 people were murdered in the first robbery alone.
1.Biernacki Paweł «Pawłuniu» around 60 years old – he was hacked with an ax in a garden under a cherry tree.
2.Braszka Stanisław «Kurka» – when the Bandera followers set fire to his house, he tried to escape from his shelter, during the escape he was shot in the back, the wounded man was killed with a few blows to the head with an ax.
3.Biernacka aniela (Paweł's wife).
4.Biernacki Michał (son).
5.Biernacka Hanna (daughter).
6.Romaniuk Helena.
7. Romaniuk Maria (daughter).
8. Urszula (sister of Romaniuk Helena).
9.Biernacka «Dośka».
10.Dobrucki Józef – shot during an escape.
11.Bobik aniela – shot.
12.Bobik (Józef?).
13.Dobrucki Jan – was strangled.
Everyone hid in «shelter» dug in the yard of Paweł Biernacki and masked with straw. as a result of setting fire to the house, the straw masking the hideout also caught fire, all people hidden there (3–8) suffocated by smoke. If men and boys were murdered during the first attack (03/04/44), all of them were murdered during the second attack. The village, which was undergoing reconstruction, was completely burnt down. The second attack took place in late February 1945 (most likely it was 28)
