The Ukrainians murdered 3 Poles: a man, a woman and a nephew of Fr Antoni Kania. Others: on the road near the village of Szwejków, county Pidhaitsi captured 18‑year‑old Józef Kania, nephew of Fr Antoni Kania. His body was found in the forest in May 1944: he had broken arms, legs, ribs, spine, cut out tongue and gouged out eyes.
