general info

Humniska

On June 3, 1945, Kupiak with his gang and the UPA unit of Iwan Diżak „Czarnota” attacked the village of Humniska near Busko. Teodor Jaśków, his wife Katarzyna, Maria Łukasiewicz and Anna Hołota, the manager of the milk catchment, were murdered there. She was strangled and thrown into a well.
Testimony of the injured Anna Moskwa, a strangled mother: „With my husband, we saw the body of our daughter Anna near the well. There was a large wound on the forehead, there was a loop mark on the neck, and all over the body, there was a heavy beating”. Testimony of the witness Falińska Susabowska; „Kupiak told me that in the summer of 1945 he killed the Jaśek couple with his militia in the village of Humniska. The reason for this murder was that Teodor Jaśków was working in the regional financial branch of the city of Busk and Kupiak was afraid that this man who traveled to work every day might inform the authorities about the situation in the area of his” operations.
