UPA and Ukrainian peasants from the surrounding villages, using axes, scythes, forks, knives and other tools, slaughtered 118 Poles and wounded 30, raped, mutilated and killed women and girls. „About 500 Ukrainians, armed with firearms, axes, pitchforks, knives and bayonets, surrounded the village with a tight cordon. They started with the robbery of horses and carts, which were used to transport the stolen property of the villagers. They also took livestock and agricultural equipment. After committing the robbery and taking away everything they could, they started slaughtering the inhabitants. They were murdered with axes, forks, knives and bayonets. The escapees were shot at. Captured and wounded, they were herded into houses, barns and cellars, where” was murdered and often burned alive.

In the yard of Piotr Gierus, called the farm „From Tarnina”, the Bandera followers organized a gathering of all captured villagers. They also tortured there, and then threw those still alive into a burning barn. It was here that Piotr Gierus was murdered with his son Jan and about 50 other inhabitants of the village. The „trail of the heroic” torturers of the UPA was marked with densely strewn corpses of innocent children, old men, women and men. Here are the further victims of „of Samostijna Ukraine” in the edition of the OUN–UPA idea of the Bandera: Stanisław Stękiewicz „Stanio” during the slaughter managed to break away from the torturers and ran towards the forest, he was almost on its edge, but he was caught up on horses by the Bandera followers and killed, abandoning the body. in the bushes. His son Franciszek and his brother–in–law Jędrzej – mute, hid in the stable. They were detected there They were severely beaten and the half–alive were led to the „execution site in Tarnin”, and there they were burned in a barn together with others. Jadwiga Błaszczyszyn, a married woman, mother of a small child, was raped and murdered by several Bandera followers  […] Antoni Buczkowski, Jan Buczkowski, Józef Buczkowski, Michał Kuszeliński and his sons: Antoni and Jan and Józef Pękalski, were surprised by the forest in Basarów, they were there night watch, in the morning they fell asleep tired from the all–night vigil. Examination of their bodies revealed that they had been tortured before their death, their genitals and hearts had been cut out  […] 12‑year‑old Jan Węglowski, Andrzej's son, captured by the Bandera followers, was taken to the execution site on „blackthorn” and burned alive there. Antoni Gryglewicz „Dizzy” caught during the escape, he was put on a bench, several torturers held him, and two cut with a carpentry saw. As he screamed in pain, the torturers laughed. Karolina Bożykowska, Grzegorz's daughter, one of the prettiest girls in the village, was hacked with an ax („Bożykowska Karolina, 26, raped and stabbed with knives” —Siekierka., P. 19). Two little boys, the sons of Kacper Pękalski, murdered in front of their mother Rozalia, the torturers enjoyed the groan and scream of their pained mother, whom they killed in the second place  […] Józef Buczkowski was caught near the church, brought to the parish house and hanged there. Before hanging, he was tortured, his body skin was cut open  […] Czuchwicki Walenty disguised himself as a girl, believing that it would save his life. The Banderites discovered his disguise. They sat him half–naked on a ladder cart, carried him through the whole village, all the way to the Ukrainian village of Polana. There, in front of the gathered crowd, they ordered him to dig a grave and murdered him to the accompaniment of hostile shouts of the hysterical crowd of Ukrainian people shouting: „This is how we end up with Lachs”  […] Zofia Gryglewicz with her daughter Michalina, permanently living in Bóbrka, came to visit her husband and father, a member of the Home Army, who was hiding in Hucisko. On the way back to Bóbrka they were stopped by the Bandera followers, raped and murdered. hiding in Hucisko. Józef Podkowicz was tied to the barn door, cut with a saw and thrown into the fire, just like Paweł Mulik. Walenty Czychnowicki was forced to dig a pit, then various tortures were carried out on it, including eyes were gouged out, genitals were cut off, and while still alive, they were thrown into the pit and covered with earth  […] Jan Koszaliński (20 years old), Burzykowska (20 years old), Rozalia Gryglewicz (24 years old), caught during the escape, had to dig a hole over which they were tortured. They all had their eyes torn out, the girls had their breasts cut off and left that way over the dug hole  […] A dozen or so small children who were captured during the escape, and whose names I did not remember, were stuffed by the Ukrainian torturers on railings of fences or thrown alive into a well.

On April 12, at 10 a.m., a mounted unit of soldiers in German uniforms arrived in the village of Hucisko. He went to the school where defense was being prepared. However, at the request of a German speaking officer, the door was opened. Immediately the Banderites in German uniforms stormed inside and chased the men outside. Others, and with them policemen and civilian Ukrainians, scattered around the village, catching mostly men and boys. Some of the captured were tied up and spent in the yard of Piotr Gierus. Here, in front of women and children, they were cut in half alive with saws, others were shot and killed with axes. Ludwik Biesiadecki's escape attempts. Others died in their own farmyards. Józef Doskoczyński was tied to the barn door and cut in half with a saw in front of his fainting wife. Some died in burned down buildings while looking for help in cellars. In total, 85 Poles and 19 in neighboring Miedziaki were murdered. The attack was organized by brothers Anton and Piotr Procok from the neighboring village of Łopuszna. One of the Procoks was a deserter from the SS–Galizien, and the other was a gamekeeper. The Banderites also included the inhabitants of Siedliska, Suchodół and Polana. About 150 in total. On that tragic April 12, 1944, I was 13 years old and lived with my parents in the Polish village of Hucisko. What I saw and experienced remained in my memory forever and I will never forget what happened then. Around 1 p.m., hordes of Bandera rezuns came to our village. Without any warning, they started burning down houses one by one from the edge of the village  […] My mother and I, when our house started to burn, we ran away from the kitchen to the basement and hid there. Fortunately, thanks to the small hole for pouring potatoes, we had access to fresh air. This saved us from suffocation by smoke from a burning house. We stayed in the basement until morning. After leaving the basement, what I saw was terrible. All the houses were burned down, the men who had been captured by the Bandera followers were locked in one of the barns and massacred there. Their ears and noses were cut off, their eyes were gouged out, some of them were cut with a carpentry saw, their arms and legs were chopped off, their bellies were torn open, like that of Wawrzyniec Blachowski lying under the fence, their insides were torn out and hung on the fence railings. My uncle, my mother's brother, the Bandera followers caught up to the forest and hacked with axes there. There were ashes and human corpses all around.

IPN Wrocław S 39/02 / Zi – investigation into the committing by Ukrainian nationalists in 1939–1945 in the Bóbrka and Lwów counties, including the city of Lviv, province Lviv, crimes of genocide against Polish citizens in order to destroy the Polish national group. As in other cases on this subject, Ukrainian nationalists attacked villages inhabited exclusively or in part by the Polish population, murdering them using cruel and barbaric methods (hacking with an ax, cutting limbs and limbs, burning alive, throwing them into a well). Often the murders took place in front of the closest family  […] In Hucisko, around Easter in 1944, over 120 people died, many of them were burned alive in a barn.

Myrosław Onyszkewycz „Orest Karat” gave the order: „I order you to purge your area immediately from the Polish element and Ukrainian–Bolshevik agents. The purge should be carried out in riverside hostels sparsely populated by Poles. To this end, create a militia near the area, composed of our members, whose task would be to eliminate the above–mentioned. Our larger hostels will be cleared of this element by our military units even in broad daylight  […] The clearing of the area must be completed before our Easter so that we can celebrate it without Poles. Remember that when the Bolsheviks find us with Poles in our territory, they will slaughter us all  […] Make a hard, ruthless fight with them. Not to spare anyone, even in mixed marriages. To take Lachs out of their houses, but The Ukrainians and children in these houses should not be liquidated  […] Get the gun. Death to the Poles. Stop, April 6, 1944. Glory to the heroes! Orest, Karat” This order is in the files of the investigation against Myroslav Onyshhevych.
