In 1944, for refusing to carry out the orders of the OUN–UPA, they killed by shooting the family of a Ukrainian village leader named Taraban, i.e. his wife, daughter Katarzyna, age 18, and son Piotr, age 6, – they abducted the s/o they murdered him.
