The UPA massacred over a dozen Polish families of about 100 people, including 13 from the Pierzecki family and 24 from the Bielawski family. The Ukrainians surrounded houses, forced them to dig pits, then strangled people one by one with a rope or killed them with a knife blow in the heart and threw them down.

6.04.43 It was Tuesday, when the farmers took manure to the fields in the spring and threw it from the cart onto the field, at a certain distance. The daughters of Piotr Pierzecki, Genowefa and Ludwika, and their cousin Jan Pierzecki, it was during such works that he encountered a gang attack on the village. So they fled into the forest. Jan Pierzecki's father, Narcissus, returned home in his wagon. While the UPA Bandera were burning and killing the first inhabitants of the village (Tomasz Bielawski and his family). Władysław Pierzecki, the husband of Janina Bielawska, fled to the field and buried himself in one of the freshly brought manure heaps. From there, he saw how his family and other inhabitants were murdered, and how they burned Polish houses. He escaped into the forest at night. He and Jan Pierzecki emigrated to the USA after the war. In the 1970s, Władysław Pierzecki came to Poland and went to Ukraine to Hranie. Only the well of Piotr Bielawski remained there […] Tomasz Bielawski, s. Piotr and Dominika, lived in Hrania. He married a Ukrainian, Katia (Katarzyna) in the Catholic Church. He was murdered in a house chase along with his wife and two young sons. The murders were carried out by UPA gangs.
