Horochówka

Shortly before the attack, the Ukrainians hanged all the dogs in Polish farms. On the morning of July 12, they entered the village armed with axes, pitchforks and firearms. They gathered men and boys in one pen and murdered them. Then the women and children were brought into one house, where straw was already spread on the floor, they locked the house and set it on fire. They caught the escaping Aniela Golisz, tied it with barbed wire and threw it into the fire. White pigeons flew over the rubble, and the Ukrainians said that they were the souls of Poles. 48 victims are known by name. In 1943, the plague of mice devoured the grain stolen by the local Ukrainians. In 1944, the crops were ravaged by the war front. In 1945, Horochówka was destroyed by a tornado. Only 1 Pole and 2 daughters survived the slaughter, expatriated in 1945 just before the whirlwind.
