In October 1943, the news that the village of Hnidawa in the Olejów commune was burnt down and about 50 Poles were widely echoed in the borough of Zborów.

The UPA massacred 48 Poles from 10 families. „Babirecki Michał, Pole Władysław, Trembulak Władysław, Boszko Katarzyna, Boszko Zofia, Boszko Władysław, Boszko Michał, Boszko Eugenia. Dajczak Józef, Dublański Teodor, Dublańska Zofia, Dublańska anna, Dublańska / a., Dudka Jan, Olender Maria, Olender Teresa, Olender Wojciech, Olender adam, Olender Jadwiga, Olender Jan. Pole Józef, Zalewski Władysław and 25 people. NN 6 people were injured. The murder was carried out by the Bandera followers under the command of Włodzimierz Jakubowski «Bondarenko» sotnik from the UPA. During the slaughter, a five‑year‑old girl, Zosia, was forced to drink a cup of her father's blood, killed in front of the child. Another girl, Hania, of a similar age, was ordered to eat a piece of her father's body.The Banderites gave this girl her life «generously» saying «live for the glory of Stepan Bandera»”. .
