In the suburbs of Hrubieszów, the Ukrainian Self–Defense Legion killed Polish refugees from Volhynia. The deaths were suffered by: Feliks Stankiewicz from Kolonia Witoldów in the Poryck commune (24 years old), Ambroży Palczyński (53), his wife Maria Palczyńska (57) and their son Czesław (14) from Grzybowica in the district of Włodzimierz Wołyński and Ludwika Palczyńska (53), wife Antoni, from Rivne. They came to Liski Horodleskie, from where they took a wagon to Hrubieszów. The Ukrainians threw their massacred bodies into the Huczwa River.
