description

general info

Grabowo

NN witness from the village of Zaborol, county Rivne /? /: „Semen Amwrosijowicz attended a Polish school and told a lot about various incidents. Many Poles lived with us. Most often they were gamekeepers, or – as we are saying now – foresters, and there was a gardener. We had a chutor Hrabowo. Sztylko lived there in Hrabowo  […] , he lived with his family, with his wife and son. And when they were killed, their son, Tadek, was grazing the cows and ran to his brother, asking: «hide me, because my family was killed». They hid him in the hay and took him to Shack at night. From there, they sent him to Poland and he survived. Then he came here with his aunt and they dug up their parents' remains and took them to the cemetery”.

It is probably about the Grabowo colony, Luboml, where the UPA slaughtered 46 Poles on September 5, 1943.
