After German and Russian invasion of Poland in 09.1939 and start of the II World War, after start of German occupation in 06.1941, during Volhynia genocide on Poles perpetrated by the Ukrainians, murdered by a Polish unit. According to Ukrainian sources 18 people were murdered, among them wife of the priest. The murder was perpetrated by Polish units of Home Army AK from Lviv coming back from a retribution action for murder of all Poles in Tuchne village by Ukrainian genocidal OUN/UPA organization (apparently Greek Catholic priest from a nearby Hlebovichi parish was urging his parishioners — „The Ukrainians cannot have their Easter baskets blessed if they do not liquidate Lakhiv (Poles)”).
