general info
Czudnica
The local UPA murdered the Dziekoński family of 6, including burning their 17‑year‑old son alive, while the 14‑year‑old son Józef, severely wounded, was dying for several hours in the neighboring Ukrainian yard. The surviving father of the family was murdered by the UPA „militia, Orlik”, only in the summer of 1948 by asphyxiation with a rope. After the war, the UPA burnt the valuable book collections in the manor, which were not destroyed by the Soviets or the Germans.
