Czahary Zbaraskie

In Czahary Zbaraski, county Zbaraż on November 16, 1943, around On the 20th day the following Poles were murdered by the Bandera followers: 1. Mieczysław Kopiec, 2. Kazimierz Słonecki (born in 1914), 3. Teofil Mazurkiewicz. In Słonecki's house, the Bandera followers cut out the front door and shot him when he tried to escape through the window. The two remaining men were murdered in their homes and tortured before their deaths. Probably the daughters of Kazimierz Słonecki – Anna, b. in 1930 and Renia b. in 1932 – they could tell a lot more about it. It is a pity that they are silent. They live in the village of Gierczyn, Rębiszów post office, province Zielona Góra.

Hello, from the stories of my aunt Anna and Renia, who unfortunately died last year, I know that Kazimierz – their father was shot by the Bandera followers, when he was jumping from the roof, he hid in the attic. Mieczysław was also killed that night – grandmother's husband and aunt Stefania's brother. Some of the men hid in the woods. Aunt Stefania was cruelly beaten, and her daughters, then little girls, hid under the bed, the other behind the stove. After all, they went outside to look for their father and husband. The night was bright with a huge moon, Kazimierz was shot dead. Aunt Anna is going through this a lot so far, I am not surprised that she does not want to talk to anyone about it.
