Dad was tortured and burned on the night of March 27–28, 1944  […] The Ruthenians did not spare my mother and our bitterness. Here, after a few days, they brought the news that the forester's family had been murdered during the night. It was told in terrible detail. It started with torturing a toddler and then older children in front of their parents. Then a cruel fate befell the wife, and finally the forester. A pile of tortured bodies with forks stuck in them remained for a long time. Only one girl survived, she was staying with her family that night.

At the beginning of April, the Bandera followers murdered 11 Poles, husbands of Ukrainian women and their sons; They spared their lives for Ukrainian wives and their daughters. „Dad was tortured and burned on the night of March 27–28, 1944  […] The Ruthenians did not spare my mother and our bitterness. Here, after a few days, they brought the news that the forester's family had been murdered during the night. It was told in terrible detail. It started with torturing a toddler and then older children in front of their parents. Then a cruel fate befell his wife, and finally a forester. A pile of tortured bodies with forks stuck in them remained for a long time. Only one girl survived, she was staying with her family that night. This event was confirmed by a favorable Ruthenian peasant. Then the child who had returned to the house full of dead bodies came to us with pain and crying for help. Mom was helpless, she asked the girl that she would quickly flee to a family who lived in a Polish settlement, where a Hungarian unit was stationed in the quarters, requested in the command to defend against the murder of the inhabitants and the burning of the village by bands of Banderites. There were too many of us to escape unnoticed. There was no longer any access to the nearby Bukaczowce. It was not possible to cross over. The only way to save us to distant towns or Kałusz led through forests, and on it we were threatened with the inevitable, because in a remote area, cruel death in torture! Mother prepared us for the fact that it would be easier to die in the vicinity of people with whom we had so far lived in friendship. In a few days, again, people brought the cruel news to my mother. All Poles married to Rusyns and their sons were murdered that night in the village. There were only a few of them in Ćwitowa. They were older people already. Grieving wives were kept, and husbands and sons were beaten with orcs. Then they were dragged out with horses, tied by their legs, still dying into the thickets of the Dniester  […] The misfortunes that unexpectedly fell on Poles living alone or in mixed families, probably are not statistically possible. Those who accidentally survived, never complained to anyone of the constant great stress and inner fear of the lurking mysterious enemy. Because this is how Poles in Poland were mixed up by Stalinism with Ukrainian chauvinists and, which is very likely, with those who got to Poland with the documents of those who were murdered, and even held high positions in Polish offices and economic institutions. There were many more that acted clandestinely”. .
