The Ukrainians killed 78‑year‑old Ignacy Kownacki and his 37‑year‑old son Piotr, and burned the body together with the buildings. The wife of Anastazy Kownacki (Ignacy's second son), while escaping, crawled in the potato marshes, dragging her 2‑year‑old daughter Michalina, who lost her speech forever as a result of these experiences.
