Fragment of Czesław Połenik's memoirs about the murders of Ukrainians in Cetula by soldiers of the Polish Army:
„The Poles also beat Wasyla Mareczka, he was called 'Hawrył'. It was our neighbor, a bachelor, came back from work from Germany. And he was gone. He is not and is not there, after a few days he was found in the woods by the road, wearing only his shirt and pants. Dad said his head was mutilated and his body was pierced”.

Excerpt from an interview with Michał Oryniak, born in in 1931 in Cetula […]
„— What were the victims of the Cetulans after the war?
— Mykhailo Hawryszko, one of those who returned from the deportation in 1940 to Bessarabia, was killed. In March 1944, our people began their first work in the field. From Piwoda they saw that someone was working. Shots from the machine flew from the bushes, Hawryszko was hit by the fingers, but he managed to escape from the field alive. They killed him exactly a year later, in the same field”.

Excerpt from Czesław Połenik's memoirs about the murders of Ukrainians in Cetula by soldiers of the Polish Army:
„At the beginning of 1947, 5 insurgents came to the house of Mareczka (Howrynia), who were immediately surrounded by soldiers who were in an ambush there. Three fell in battle, two fled, the house burned down. Forests were combed […] An inhabitant of the village of Skibiak ran away on horses, he was caught and shot”.
