Bukowina

The Bandera followers murdered 13 Poles: Baran Maria, 40, her daughters Anna, 6, and Stefania, 16, and son Stanisław, 12, Czapla Antoni, 50, his wife Anna, 40, their children: Władysław, 16, Józefa, 3 and Maria, 10, Humienny N. 65, Lis Adam, 55, Maliszewski Mikołaj, 55, Zalewska Rozalia, 65.

Others: „14 people died that night: 11 in Bukowina and 3 in Kamionka. Krakowiak defended himself to the end and died with the whole family. He and his son were shot in the yard, and the wife and two daughters were stabbed with knives at the steering wheel near Wuzer. Maria Baran also died with the whole family. She and three children suffocated in the basement of the burned–out barn. The others were either shot alone during the escape, or caught and murdered. The wilderness burned down about 100 buildings in Bukowina and 30 in Kamionka during the attack. Animals were also burned in most of the buildings. On Sunday morning, representatives of the authorities showed up. The head of the NKVD, Kirichenko, and the Chairman of the Rozdolański Region, passed through the village, inspected the site of the site, nodded, and drove away. Kirychenko certainly knew about the planned attack on the village, because he had his plugs everywhere, while a Ukrainian, Rozdolańskij, collaborated with the UPA  […] The final act of this apocalypse was a mass funeral. The murdered were placed in hastily assembled coffins, Krakowiak and his family in a closet, and a string of carts surrounded by families and neighbors set off with Father Markiewicz to the church, and then to the cemetery. As the mourning ceremony was over, arrows fell from the woods. Lord, give them eternal rest; everyone died on the lips. In a hurry, the graves were filled in, people jumped on the carts and galloped back to the village. The bandits who considered themselves Christians did not even leave the dead. They did not allow the Christian rite to be completed. There is no doubt that the level of civilization and culture of these people did not differ from the level of Khmelnytsky's black hosts. It was the last and probably the only funeral of this kind at our cemetery. Later, the murdered were buried in the village”. .
