Probably on the night of May 1–2, 1945, the Bandera followers murdered a Polish family of at least 3 people: „Then we left our belongings every evening and ran to the town [Grzymałów], and wherever we could, we stayed overnight, because there was a larger group of Poles and back home in the morning. One morning we were returning home from night to home, we noticed that their door was open. I went to see what they opened that morning, and the whole family was lying on the floor, murdered. I saw that the ear was lying here, a piece of the body was lying there, the eyes were stuck out, and my friend, 17‑year‑old Kasia, had her breasts cut off. I was 17 then. I was so scared because I had never seen anything like it. I got neurosis, when the evening was approaching, it shook me like a fever and it lasted until we went west. But that was not enough for them. As usual, we went for the night [to the town]. During the night [of May 2–3, 1945] we saw a glow, our village was on fire, nobody saved it, in the morning we only found” ashes.
