Boków

Bandera followers robbed and burned down Polish farms and murdered 72 Poles.
On Friday, February 11, 1944, at 10 p.m., The Ukrainians attacked the village of Boków, the rural commune of Bożyków, Podhajecki county. They came on sledges from the surrounding villages and started raiding Polish houses, leaving the Ukrainians alone. The attackers saved their ammunition, using it only in exceptional cases, and murdered Poles with axes and agricultural tools. The terrorists killed 24 people, two children and one seriously injured man. Szymkowicz Bronisław, around 45, a farmer by profession, a former Polish mayor, was cut off by the Ukrainians and took it with them. Many other Poles, such as Rzędzianowski Jan, 21, a farmer by profession, former shooter, and Pilecki Ludwik, 40, a farmer by profession, suffered the same fate. On the same day, The Ukrainians also murdered eight children aged 2–10 and about 13 women, including several pregnant women. After committing their crime, the Ukrainians began to plunder the property of the murdered, and even took off the shoes and clothes of the dead. At two o'clock in the morning, the murderers departed towards Szumlan in the Podhajecki district.

23 people killed and 4 injured were named. Most of these victims are mentioned by Komański and Siekierka on pp. 254–255, describing the attack on the village of Boków, county Pidhaitsi on the night of February 10–11, 1944 (they do not mention Czesława and Ryszard Buga). And: in the village of Boków, county Pidhaitsi „The Ukrainians murdered 23 Poles. Children had their arms and legs cut off”.

Easter Sunday – „During the second OUN–UPA raid on Easter 1944, about 40 Poles of NN” were murdered.

Myrosław Onyszkewycz „Orest Karat” gave the order: „I order you to purge your area immediately from the Polish element and Ukrainian–Bolshevik agents. The purge should be carried out in riverside hostels sparsely populated by Poles. To this end, create a militia near the area, composed of our members, whose task would be to eliminate the above–mentioned. Our larger hostels will be cleared of this element by our military units even in broad daylight  […] The clearing of the area must be completed before our Easter so that we can celebrate it without Poles. Remember that when the Bolsheviks find us with Poles in our territory, they will slaughter us all  […] Make a hard, ruthless fight with them. Not to spare anyone, even in mixed marriages. To take Lachs out of their houses, but The Ukrainians and children in these houses should not be liquidated  […] Get the gun. Death to the Poles. Stop, April 6, 1944. Glory to the heroes! Orest, Karat” This order is in the files of the investigation against Myroslav Onyshhevych.
