In the night of September 1944, several armed OUN militants once again came to our house in search of a father and brother. They didn't find them. In revenge, they took 45‑year‑old mother Pelagia, put a noose around her neck, tied it to the wagon, and so my mother died dragged behind the wagon. Her body was not found.

Pelagia Zielińska was Ukrainian, she died „for her husband” a Pole and for a son who felt Polish.
