Excerpt from the situational report of Petr Kawuza 'Taras', the political clerk of the OUN 'Chłodny Jar' district, on the murder of Ukrainians in Dobrzanka by bandits and soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces:
„On January 8, 1946, a group of Polish civilians with the Polish Army, 50 people, arrived in the village of Dobrzanka. A gang fired machine guns at the entrance. Frightened people started to run into the forest. The Poles opened fire on the fleeing people, injuring Volodymyr Ilkiv, 52, Wasyl Patir, 59. They took both wounded to Bircza […] Wołodymyr Ilkiv was shot in Stara Bircza by a Polish policeman from Leszczawa Dolna, Józef Skrzyńkowski”.
