Bereżnica Wyżna
Fragment of the situational report of the OUN reporter Stepan Golasz 'Mara' from the 'Beskid' region about the murder by Polish Army soldiers on Ukrainians in Bereżnica Wyżna:
„On February 17, 1946, 82 soldiers from Baligród passed through Żernica to Bereźnica Wyżna, where BSB quartered . The militia withdrew behind the hill and fired machine gun and rifle fire from the incoming Poles. They scattered and only then started firing at the village, killing two girls: Marija Staruch and Kateryna Maszczak”.
