Bandera followers murdered 2 Poles: organist Szymon Wiśniowski and the parish priest, Fr Karol Procyk, whom they beaten, kidnapped in the area of the village of Smolanka and murdered after being tortured. The first, unsuccessful attack on the presbytery took place on October 28, 1943. The second bandits carried out on November 2, 1943 at 18.
First, they terrorized the service in the kitchen, and then five attackers burst into the room of Fr Slingshot, where all the men wanted by the UPA were kept. Only the younger vicar managed to survive. Seeing the attack, he quickly retreated to his room and locked the door. When the bandits started breaking them down, the priest jumped out of the window. Escaping, he called for help. Meanwhile, the torturers pierced the resisting priest Procyk with a bayonet, knocked him to the floor, put the gag in his mouth and carried him out of the house, tied. After throwing the priest onto the cart, they drove off. Organist Szymon Wiśniewski was shot on the spot in the room. The bodies of Fr Slingshot was not found.
