Babińce ad Dźwinogród
I was a resident of the village of Babińce near Dźwinogród. In the early summer of 1944, the Soviet authorities took many men into the army, including my dad Julian Krzyżewski and husband Joanna Gonczowska. A week after Christmas 1944, while I was sleeping with my mother on the stove, the Bandera followers smashed the door and entered our hut. There were three of them. They dragged my mother from the stove to the hall and raped her one by one. Then they beat her so badly she was all bruised. At that time, I hid under the pillow, and when I started screaming, one of the Banderites hit me hard with a club. When the torturers left our hut, my mother said: „Let's leave the hut, because if they come again,” will kill us. We took the eiderdowns and went to the attic to the stables. We sat there until morning, unable to sleep. We heard how in the night bandits – Bandits, rode through our village on the road and rode sledges and horses. In the morning we went to the apartment. Our neighbor, my mother's friend, Joanna Gonczowska, came to us. She told us that she also had Banderites and raped her in front of the children.
