„Ukrainian partisans” hacked the miller's family of 10 with axes: 55‑year‑old Jan Romanowski, his 18‑year‑old son Aleksander, 16‑year‑old daughter Leokadia, 13‑year‑old daughter Krystyna, 8‑year‑old daughter Jadwiga, married 30‑year‑old daughter Anna Dziadura and her 3‑year‑old daughter Ewa; 80‑year‑old Anna Romanowska, mother of Jan and 17‑year‑old cousin Feliksa Kicuń. „The miller's daughters were raped by” prior to their murder.

[The Ukrainians] burnt the mill and the house. The miller's wife, who was German, who survived, watched the slaughter of the whole family from hiding and recognized the two murderers, fled to Włodzimierz Wołyński after the fire.

Augustów
Orthodox feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary: they murdered a Polish family of seven. The witness Kajetan Cis, hidden in a copy of grain consisting of ten sheaves, saw the Malinowski family's failed attempt to escape. The family consisted of 7 people: parents, mother–in–law and children: 2. 3, 4 and 5. „Enraged band, still bloody and warm in Władysławówka – with pitchforks, axes, sickles and scythes – killed and abused this family; the women, Malinowski's wife and mother–in–law, were stripped naked and raped – they must have raped dead women, because they were lying motionless and every now and then, they were covered with blood. Live children were lifted up on the pitchfork – a terrible scream […] . I met a few ryzunów – they lived in adjacent villages, neighbors”.
